Suleskarvegen

Tour of Norway passing Suleskar, May 28

On May 28, 2023, the second stage of the Tour of Norway will go from Valle over Suleskar to Stavanger, with the finish line on Sunday afternoon.

The cyclists will start from Valle city center at 1:35 pm and will cycle 172.5 km through a beautiful part of Norway. With 19 different teams and some of the world's best cyclists present, they will most likely stay together in the peloton for the first kilometers. But as the challenges in the course arise, the peloton will spread out a bit, but no more than a 20-minute difference between the first and last rider is expected as they approach the finish line.

If you have planned to drive over Suleskarvegen on this day, you should allow extra time. The road will be closed for parts of the day, from around 12:30 pm to approximately 4:00 pm. If you want to see the cyclists and cheer them on towards the finish line, it is best to park at Brokke on the east side of the mountain or Sirdal on the west side. There will be very few parking opportunities along the Suleskarvegen road on this day.

In addition to watching the cyclists, you can also enjoy the beautiful nature along Suleskarvegen. The trip over the mountain is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area, and offers beautiful mountain landscapes. There are several hiking opportunities in the area, including hikes to fishing lakes and beautiful viewpoints.
